Duties

You will design, code, debug, and maintain programs using Java, JavaScript frameworks, web development, and workflow applications (i.e., JIRA, Power Platform) as a Web Application Developer. You will design, monitor, and implement improvements in response to new requirements, changes in IT security policy, security issues, and bug fixes. You will act as a project manager in bringing together customer requirements through business process analysis and implementing technical solutions that enhance user-developed content and meet business and technical requirements. You will establish troubleshooting procedures and documents solutions to common problems for reference by other specialists. You will automate server provisioning, configuration, and application deployments using cloud and containerization technologies.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 621 Software Developer level II within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Providing guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operations of network systems. 2) Coordinating operations at the local level designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services and capabilities. 3) Analyzing and interpreting technical specifications into integrated applications that automate business processes. 4) Participating on teams responsible for planning, design, development, testing, integration and deployment of Web-based applications that interface with configurations of hardware and software. In addition to the specialized experience above, your experience must reflect skill in the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
