Duties
You will proactively maintain server and service health for local area networks.
You will lead a team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, and provide advice on work methods, practices, and procedures.
You will represent the team in dealings with the supervisor or manager for the purpose of obtaining resources and securing needed information.
You will prepare reports and maintain records as required, and coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
You will participate in defining IT security requirements and implementations, as well as support IT security applications.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. This experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying systems administration methods and procedures, as well as performance monitoring methods; 2) Using IT security principles and analytical reasoning sufficient to schedule, monitor, and verify the integrity of systems in response to problems identified in vulnerability reports; 3) Installing server upgrades, scheduling downtime to minimize user impact, and monitor performance using performance monitoring tools; and 4) Demonstrating knowledge of commercial systems security products, technical documentation methods, and performance management methods sufficient to carry out activities leading to security A&A, conduct integrated analysis of audit logs, and identification of violations while recommending corrective actions.
