This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Technology & Innovation. The incumbent serves as a program analyst for CFPB's Privacy program with responsibility for monitoring privacy compliance within assigned portfolios.
Duties
As a Government Information Specialist (Privacy Program Analyst), you will:
Support the implementation of the Privacy program. Monitor Federal law, regulation, standards, and policy for changes that affect the Privacy program. Provide guidance in the development and establishment of Privacy policies and procedures to ensure that significant privacy issues are identified, and deficiencies are addressed.
Review proposed Bureau policies, procedures, systems, or initiatives that have a privacy component and provide recommended changes to impacted management and program processes to enhance privacy. Recommend the adoption and application of new methods and approaches to ensure program or project requirements address privacy risks while aligning with strategic objectives.
Draft standard operating procedures, guidance, and handbooks for the Privacy Office and other teams that have a responsibility for safeguarding personally identifiable information (PII). Conduct privacy compliance documentation and participate in the implementation of policies and programs required by law to protect personal information under the Privacy Act, E-Government Act, or other privacy guidance through the entire lifecycle of Bureau information systems. Monitor offices and programs within assigned portfolio to ensure adherence to Privacy policies. Develop and conduct training that incorporates appropriate privacy protections into all relevant aspects of CFPB operations
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the CN-53, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-52 grade level in the Federal service. (For qualification purposes, the CN-52 is broadly equivalent to the GS-12).Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Developing, coordinating, and/or implementing privacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other guidance documents; AND
Analyzing new or proposed updates to IT systems, programs, or other initiatives or efforts (e.g., data intakes or sharing, proposed rules, research projects, procurements), and documenting, and making recommendations on the privacy implications, impacts, or risks (e.g., Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), Privacy Threshold Analysis (PTA), and System of Records Notice (SORN)); AND
Responding to suspected privacy breaches, including providing guidance on remediation and mitigation; AND
Conducting privacy-related trainings or briefings to various agency stakeholders; AND
Working with business operations to understand how privacy requirements apply to core functions across an agency.
