You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY within IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS.
Duties
You will supervise and coordinate the work of a multi-disciplinary team to implement environmental policies and ensure program effectiveness for Navy operations.
You will develop and refine environmental compliance strategies, natural resource policies, and marine mammal management programs to meet legislative and operational goals.
You will act as the Navy’s advocate in federal and state negotiations regarding at-sea and ashore environmental programs, representing key policy and compliance issues.
You will provide responses and expert recommendations to senior leadership on environmental planning, resource allocation, and policy development.
You will manage program funding and assessments to ensure alignment with Navy objectives and federal environmental laws.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Demonstrating expertise in supervising multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with Navy environmental planning, natural resources, and marine mammal programs across ashore and at-sea operations.
2) Developing and refining Navy policies and strategies related to environmental compliance, infrastructure planning, and readiness, including integrating legislative requirements into operational goals.
3) Providing policy guidance and coordinating with federal, state, and non-governmental organizations on complex environmental compliance programs, including the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).
4) Leading efforts to develop responses and recommendations to senior leadership on environmental planning issues, resource allocation, and program assessments.
5) Ensuring oversight of resource allocation, funding, and program execution for at-sea and ashore environmental initiatives to meet Navy operational and legislative compliance requirements.

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
OR
Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
