Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a/an Records and Information Management Specialist, you will:
Manage records within electronic recordkeeping systems.
Develop records management training and provide advice and guidance to agency staff.
Formulate agency information policy and develop plans for implementation.
Perform analytical and technical work relating to creating, capturing, storing, managing, disposing, and archiving records and information.
Plan, develop, implement record management processes, and disposition practices aligned to presidential mandates, records management guidelines, policies, and objectives.
Develop and keep agency record retention schedules current.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience assisting in the administration of a records management program AND
-Advising on record management policies and procedures AND
-Oversight of records maintenance and disposition.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience performing evaluations of records and information management programs AND
-Experience reviewing records retention schedules, standard operating procedures, and record series inventory forms AND
-Experience performing project management including developing project milestones and deadlines, identifying requirements and providing analytical information AND
-Experience in providing training and guidance to stakeholders via hands-on, virtual, or other tools in the performance of records management best practices.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
