About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Executive Director for Support Operations, Rock Island Arsenal, IL.
Duties
Execute mobilization/de mobilization and deployment support requirements to effectively meet the command’s mission, goals, and objectives.
Ensure the development of methods and execution of DOD transportation policies and procedures to accomplish the assigned mission.
Interpret technical policy for application at/below echelon operational support and integrations.
Plan, establish, and validate current and long-term objective application of higher echelon policy and regulations.
Develop, implement, and validate mission impact statements and cost estimates for assigned programs' operations.
Coordinate with internal command and external stakeholders on assigned functional areas to resolve transportation issues and concerns.
Serve as Logistics Management Specialist of general deployment operation programs and operations.
Provide program oversight to assure timely operational support and integration transportation support requirements.
Independently resolves highly complex technical and administrative problems develops policy for guidance in future transportation situations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
- Position requires CONUS temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Performance of duties may require occasional OCONUS travel.
- Must obtain and maintain a government passport.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled which includes (1) Preparing and implementing recommendations for change in transportation or logistics procedures and policies; (2) Resolving problems or issues, and/or the impact on logistics concepts that extend beyond local operations; AND (3) Providing logistics analysis and functional analyses of logistics/transportation support functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
