This position located in Associate Chief of Staff Geriatric and Extended Care Services (ACOS, GECS) and supervised by the Geriatric and Extended Care (GECS) Supervisory Program Specialist (Business Manager).
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for creating and running different types of reports which, the incumbent creates.
Collects data, tracking required measures of performance, and running various data reports.
Follows standard operating procedures for tracking and management of data.
Modifies and maintains automated systems for program effectiveness.
Collects data, develop reports, and extract canned and customized reports from Allocation Resource Center (ARC) including Veterans Equitable Resource Allocation (VERA) reports (i.e., monthly, and annual workload reports, Complimentary and Integrative Health (CIH) Care allocations, enrollment, and costs).
Works with the facility and VISN DSS/MCA staff to monitor and insure accurate DSS/MCA labor mapping.
Extracts all available data from VSSC and Geriatric and Extended Care Dashboards on assigned topics.
Conducts queries within VHA's Veteran Support Service Center (VSSC) for GECS staff productivity, outpatient access and wait times.
Creates computerized files, templates, and databases to obtain automated clinical and administrative data used by the GECS Supervisory Program Specialist (Business Manager) to assist with production of managerial reports for local, regional and VA Central Office purposes.
Aids with creating, maintaining and management of new and existing clinic location requests, note titles and
templates within the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
Aids with the budgeting and financial management for the GECS. This includes assisting with budget formulation, justification, and execution, financial management, and financial reporting.
Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes selected administrative support requirements in consideration of needs and cost trends of travel, supplies, training, and related human resources and materials used to support technical programs
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: 7:30am-4pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/13/2025.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skill of 40 words per minute typing speed.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
GS-06 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Composes letters requesting information of services requesting information needed.
Provides customer service to include telephone calls & correspondence from internal and external customers.
Serve as primary timekeeping, attendance, and leave administrator for the service line.
Experience with Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
Performs basic analysis for data and generates a variety of reports.
GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Extensive experience extracting information from various sources for applicability of information and characteristics and quality of the sources
Experience using multiple PC software programs to generate specific documents and reports such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CPRS.
Use of VISTA to access information in the medical center computer system.
Experience with telephone and personal interaction skills to ensure tact and diplomacy which is appropriate in dealing with veterans, families, high level officials, staff and other administrative and clinical departments, representatives from private and/or community corporations, member of service organizations and other stakeholders.
Experience in the Talent Management System.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there
may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, or driving
an automobile, etc. No specific physical demands are required to perform the work.
