About the Position: This position is located at the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistic Readiness Center, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Receive and process incoming shipments.
Verify quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents.
Receive requests for issuing or shipping supplies and equipment.
Prepare shipping documents.
Operate a forklift with a load capacity of 10,000 pounds.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- The incumbent will be required to pass and maintain forklift operator certification within agency mandated time frames.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision to include 1) Receiving or processing requests for issuance or shipment of supplies and/or equipment; and 2) Operating a forklift to move pallets or load and/or unload vehicles. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Physical Effort: Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
Working Conditions: Primarily works inside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads.
