About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Materials Handler Motor Vehicle Operator/ Forklift Operator.
Duties
Receive requests for issue or shipment of supplies and equipment.
Determine docking area for off-loading.
Operate forklifts/motor vehicles safely.
Process incoming shipments from supported customer units or commercial shipments.
Participate in inventories of stock on hand as required.
issue items listed on Delegation of Authority Card (DA Form 1687).
Assemble items in temporary storage area for issue or further distribution to appropriate storage area.
Perform warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping sensitive items such as small arms, classified items, and communication security material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position has a requirement to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain forklift certification and driving test.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler Motor Vehicle Operator/ Forklift Operator without more than normal supervision to include performing warehousing operations which include 1) receiving, storing and issuing a wide variety of supplies and equipment; and 2) unloading, inspecting, and tallying stock to assure quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents.

Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
Working Conditions: Primarily works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads.
