About the Position: This position is located at the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Supply and Services Division.
This position will be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months.
Duties
Receive requests for issue or shipment of supplies and equipment.
Determine docking area for off-loading.
Operate forklifts/motor vehicles safely.
Process incoming shipments from supported customer units or commercial shipments.
Participate in inventories of stock on hand as required.
Issue items listed on Delegation of Authority Card (DA Form 1687).
Assemble items in temporary storage area for issue or further distribution to appropriate storage area.
Perform warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping sensitive items such as small arms, classified items, and communication security material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position may require shift work or an irregular tour of duty to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position may require the incumbent to work overtime.
- This position requires the incumbent to pass and maintain forklift certification and driving test.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision to include performing warehousing operations which include 1) receiving, storing and issuing a wide variety of supplies and equipment; and 2) unloading, inspecting, and tallying stock to assure quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two point on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
Working Conditions: Primarily works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads.
