Duties

Serves as Operations Officer for the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), Fort Huachuca. Performs a wide range of managerial and supervisory tasks in planning, directing and evaluating law enforcement, security and fire protection and prevention operations with authority to make decisions and commit to a course of action. Participates fully with the Director in the planning, training and management of the Directorate and its operational continuity. Provides guidance, direction and assistance to staff members. Conducts studies and develops recommendations on proposed new missions. Provides technical and administrative over-site of the operations office.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has been identified as being a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, Mobilization Planning and Management.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
