Duties

You will plan, formulate, and establish operating procedures for the Information and Personnel Security Programs. You will serve as a special staff officer and direct representative in matters regarding the eligibility of personnel to access classified information and be assigned to sensitive duties. You will coordinate notifications, initial inquiries, and investigative results recommending revocation of security clearances. You will ensure compliance with accounting and control requirements for classified material to include receipt, distribution, inventory, reproduction and disposition by all command elements approved to store classified information. You will maintain oversight and control of command Industrial Security Program. You will ensure security control of visits to and from the command when the visitor requires, and is authorized, access to classified information or restricted areas. You will conduct command security education programs that include indoctrination, orientation, annual refreshers, derivative classification, and on-the-job training.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Monitoring established security programs and conducting independent reviews, recommending changes involving well established criteria, methods, and procedures. Examples of Qualifying Experience include: Experience in planning, managing and implementing Personnel Security Programs. Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

Successful completion of LL.M., if related
