You will serve as a Security Specialist in the PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL PROGRAMS BRANCH at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. The duty station is Cherry Point, NC.
Duties
You will conduct continuing security analysis of program(s) within a region to which assigned and recommend improvements and corrective measures to upgrade security administration, procedures and processes.
You will prepare security specifications for program procurements.
You will participate in the design, development, and be responsible for the oversight of construction projects to ensure appropriate physical security measures are taken to achieve accreditation of SAP Facilities.
You will provide security oversight, guidance and support to USMC activities and contractors; inspect facilities to ensure continued compliance with U.S. Government security policy standards and requirements.
You will prepare reports of investigations including recommendations for disciplinary and other remedial actions.
You will, with appropriate training and support from higher headquarters, to review, approve, or provide recommended edits to documents prepared on behalf of USMC commands to include deployment or test / demonstration plans.
You will work closely with government civilians, military personnel, and contractors to ensure the successful protection of critical technologies and components for Special Access Programs (SAPs).
You will administer security indoctrinations and debriefings.
You will prepare correspondence, reports and other documentation related to the full range of specialized security functions in support of SAPs within your area of responsibility.
You will brief higher authorities on the currency and accuracy of program security; include elemental status with analysis of program patterns and trends potentially affecting security postures.
You will provide on-the-job training to assigned security personnel.
You will investigate security discrepancies, infractions, and violations.
You will coordinate with law enforcement, counterintelligence, and other entities to ensure protection of classified national security information up to and including TOP SECRET, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying comprehensive knowledge of Physical Security, Personnel Security, Information Security, Operations Security (OPSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Information Assurance (IA), Special Access Program Security, and Industrial Security to perform the following:
1) Serving as a technical expert providing full range of security support
2) Participating in analysis, making comments and recommendations from the security perspective, including personnel adjudications, physical facility protection, administrative and automated information systems policies and practices
3) Assisting in formulating and improving security risk management policy guidance and support
4) Conducting inquiries of reported security violations, to adjudicate reported discrepancies
5) Providing oversight and compliance inspection of organized personnel responsible for the protection of classified/restricted information.
6) Conducting assessments on threats and vulnerabilities, determine the level of risk, and develop and recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures in operational and non-operational situations.
