About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Duties

Serve as the accountable officer responsible for accountability, requisitioning, receiving, inventorying, and disposition of supplies and subsistence in support of Installation and tenant organizations. Oversee the stock control, requisition, receipt, storage, issue, inventory, programming, and review of local purchases (charge accounts) for Class I items. Conduct monthly inventories of operational rations and execute procedures and practices necessary for local and external customer support. Monitor and develop financial account statuses and inventory records pertaining to Class I procurements and inventories. Requisition, receive, inspect, store, safeguard, inventory, and issue subsistence items from the subsistence warehouse. Participate in US Department of Agriculture (USDA) audits as they pertain to the items provided through the prime vendor contracts to observe and document quality and USDA Compliance. Monitor established contracts in support of Subsistence Supply Management Office (SSMO) requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position may require evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours to include overtime, as mission dictates.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Qualifications

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Sill Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing supply work in support of an organization's subsistence operations; 2) Performing stock control (requisitioning, receiving, issuing, or inventorying) for subsistence supplies; 3) Utilizing automated supply systems for supply or inventory management; and 4) Resolving subsistence supply problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or another related field. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementContracting SupportInventory ManagementSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
