About the Position: You will serve as the Property Book Officer (PBO), for the Installation/Garrison Central Issue Facility (CIF) Operation.
Duties
Maintain accountability of property with correct maintenance of automated property records.
Inventory returned equipment to assure all components are present and serviceable.
Adjust hand receipts and prepare returned items for re-issue, returns to proper storage area.
Identify equipment for turn-in and perform technical inspection.
Determines stockage levels and storage requirements to support installation.
Review supply operations and develop changes in internal procedures and processes to meet customer demands and improve efficiencies.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position requires a pre-employment medical examination and annual thereafter.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a NACI background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Ensuring accountability of property and correct maintenance of automated property records, operations and maintenance of an automated system ; receipt, warehouse storage and issue of clothing and equipment; authorization, issue, and turn-in of clothing and equipment; excess clothing and equipment management.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
