Duties
You will process hiring announcements on USAjobs.gov.
You will participate in onboarding of new employees by briefing on work-life programs, benefits, retirement, and pertinent contact information.
You will manage hard copy and digital files for assigned areas of responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Department of Navy recordkeeping guidance.
You will gather data for suitability adjudications.
You will initiate requests for personal actions in the Department of Defense personnel system.
You will be working with the Office of Civilian Human Resources (OCHR) Norfolk on complex Human Resources (HR) issues.
You will utilize a variety of information technology tools to complete assignments, including: Microsoft Office Suite applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint various Department of Defense, Department of Navy, and law enforcement databases.
You will process staffing, recruitment, employee compensation, data from human resources information systems.
You will process pre-employment suitability, timekeeping, awards and recognition program, the telework program, the employee assistance program, and the drug-free workplace program.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing a wide range of federal Human Resources (HR) laws, executive orders, regulations, policies, directives, and instructions.
Experience providing HR functions such as merit promotion, recruitment and placement, employee relations, and employment performance.
Experience conducting issue resolutions and other programs to develop solutions to especially complex problems and drive program improvements.
GS-11: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Experience providing a full range of Human Resources (HR) principles, concepts, policies, and analytical techniques
Experience assisting with HR functions such as merit promotion, recruitment and placement, employee relations, and employment performance.

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
