You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) for HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING PAC.

Duties

You will ensure that all requirements of Cyber Security/Information Assurance are applied to Navy and non-Navy systems are compliant. You will track completion of Cyber Awareness Challenge training and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) training and report completion. You will periodically inspect command spaces for wireless devices usage in classified areas, unauthorized devices connected to the network, PII data on shared network drives, for compliance with Information Security policies. You will conduct audits on Program of Record systems monthly and report up to Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM). You will perform all facets of Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) account and systems management. You will manage and update the public internet and intranet (private) sites that are hosted by U.S. Fleet Forces Command and Commander Naval Air Forces Pacific and ensure compliance with DOD and DON information security and public affairs policies.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift (when applicable).

Qualifications

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: Configure and program new equipment to meet end user requirements; Install software/hardware components, system peripherals, perform diagnostics, analyze results and affect repairs. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: Ensure timely customer service support to maximize customer abilities to use local training and maintenance information systems; assist customers in determining information requirements through system training and applications. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: Instruct computer use and software applications either one-to-one or in a classroom; provide technical advice and training support to personnel concerning communication requirements. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: resolving customer questions or problems concerning Information Technology (IT) automation systems, software and hardware problems; respond to system shutdowns, interruptions, failures and analyze problems, to determine reason and affect repair and/or replacement to restore operations. In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing Information Technology customer support services by troubleshooting and analyzing problems related to Information Technology products, services, and cyber security measures to ensure services are provided effectively. Education

Education can be substituted for experience as described below:

Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR

Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
