You will serve as a Chief Information Officer and Command Information Systems Manager within the Command Operations Department at the Fleet Readiness Center - Southwest (FRCSW).

Duties

You will be responsible for managing relevant security (e.g. information security) implications within the organization, specific program, and/or other areas of responsibility related to this IT position. You will function as senior-level executive, who will establish and maintain the enterprises vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets are protected. You will direct staff members identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes across the organization. You will oversee IT compliance requirements for assigned program. You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position.
  • You must obtain and maintain credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for specialty area of Information Systems Security Manager (722) and Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner (752) at the Advanced proficiency level within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: (1) Functioning as a cyber-security expert on computer networking concepts and protocols, network security methodologies, cyber threats and vulnerabilities; (2) Demonstrated working knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies and ethics as they relate to cyber-security; (3) Developing cyber-security policies, programs, and plans to accomplish IT program initiatives; (4) Applying current industry methods for evaluating, implementing and disseminating information technology security assessment for an organization; (5) Employing job-related experience and understanding of information security program management and project management principles and techniques to support agency mission and IT program goals and objectives; and (6) Utilizing cyber-security principles to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage and transmission of information or data.
