You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Corporate Business Office Division (106), Metrics, Analysis and Data Calls Branch (1063) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14.

Duties

You will serve as a Manager providing primarily administrative, technical, logistical, financial, and/or business related services. You will be responsible for the development of the workforce, effective execution of workload consistent with organizational initiatives and objectives, and for providing outstanding support and service to assigned customers. You will plan, distribute, coordinate, and monitor work assignments of subordinates; evaluate work performance and provide feedback on their performance. You will ensure that employees are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner. You will identify solutions and provide guidance and advice to subordinates and to other supervisors and managers. You will develop and implement long and short term planning for required funding, human resources, facilities and equipment. You will develop and implement the organization's project and programmatic policies and procedures, and determine criteria for assessing effectiveness.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading projects or teams in the development, analysis, and utilization of business-related information and procedures to assess business or administrative data for improved organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
