A successful candidate in the Public Utilities Specialist (Settlement Analyst) position serves as a Settlements Analyst to validate Energy Imbalance Market settlement values, determine financial positions, evaluate market behavior to identify trends and anomalies to develop conclusions.
Duties
As a Public Utilities Specialist (Settlements Analyst), you will:

- This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [enter grade] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) experience in validating and analyzing market settlement transactions and calculations in the electric power industry or other utility organizations, and 2) providing data analysis and research to identify trends and determine the cause of settlement discrepancies.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
