You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the STRIKE FORCE INTEROPERABILITY BRANCH (FR06), FLEET READINESS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

Duties

You will provide Strike Force warfare area assessment support to assigned Carrier Strike Groups, Expeditionary Strike Groups, Surface Action Groups, and Marine Expeditionary Forces. You will perform duties as a C5I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Intelligence) Baseline Manager to manage the C5I Modernization process and facilitate successful C5ISR installations in US Navy ships. You will perform baseline analysis to support the Naval C5I Modernization Council (NCMC) and baseline lock events (BLE). You will participate in monthly reviews to provide the fleet commander an assessment of the dependency and gap analysis issues in the locked baseline. You will collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate resolution of alteration maturity issues required. You will perform compliance reviews of system Installation Risk Assessments to include readiness of installation drawings, integrated logistics, electromagnetic compatibility, information assurance, weapon systems and explosive safety compliance. You will assess C5I Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) future capabilities, conduct interoperability and integration dependency analysis of planned upgrades, and identify a prioritized list of issues for leadership attention. You will provide a background, analysis, assessment, research and advice to command leadership for C5ISR Systems impacted by the installation and integration of new systems and upgrades.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating engineering requirements to provide assessment support, test, and resolve system interoperability issues for ship combat systems.
