You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the CVN MODERNIZATION Branch (N65) in the AVAILABILITY INTEGRATION Division (N60) of the MODERNIZATION AND INSTALLATION Department (N00) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Norfolk, Virginia or San Diego, California detachment.
Duties
You will provide project-oriented engineering technical services for In-Service and New Construction support of ship missiles and other Strike Group systems and subsystems for Navy ships,
You will serve as Combat Systems Test Director fir Aircraft Carriers, responsible for execution and coordination of interface and operability testing to characterize combat, weapons, and C4I systems throughout ship?s phased maintenance availability,
You will conduct testing throughout the availability (e.g., Pre-Installation Checkout, System Operability Verification Test, etc) and conclude with at-sea live air tracking and engagement exercises during sea trials,
You will act as the NSWC PHD liaison between PEO IWS, waterfront representatives, Regional Maintenance Centers, ships force, and the technical community,
You will provide oversight of the entire combat system of Aircraft Carriers, providing program management, planning, documentation development, technical support, and system integration guidance,
You will identify and correct combat systems issues, executing integrated test plans and directing the execution of numerous Combat Systems test actions,
You will assist ship?s force in identifying, planning and performing repairs for casualties affecting maintenance availabilities schedule and completion of required testing events,
You will support material condition assessments in preparation for deployment or critical Combat Systems training events,
You will support technical documentation teams by reviewing and providing feedback for the development and validation of various operational, maintenance, and test procedures.

- This is a Bargaining Unit position.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying electronics technician concepts and practices to support the in-service engineering, installation, availabilities, or test and evaluation of shipboard combat and weapon systems.
