Duties

Major Duties of the Position: The Senior Associate Dean (SAD) serves as the principal advisor to the Dean of the Faculty on cadet and faculty development, providing strategic guidance to enhance academic and professional growth. This key leadership role includes leading the implementation of a tenure system and the establishment of faculty service-track positions, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and standards. The SAD represents the Dean of the Faculty in essential forums such as the Faculty Senate and the Academic Working Group, acting as a voice for faculty and cadet concerns while fostering collaboration across academic departments. In addition, the SAD collaborates with other Associate Deans to coordinate and advance faculty development programs, promoting professional excellence and innovation in teaching, research, and service. The SAD oversees efforts to improve DF's culture and climate, championing initiatives that foster inclusivity, respect, and a supportive environment for faculty, staff, and cadets. This role also involves acting as a conduit for cadet concerns, ensuring issues are appropriately escalated to senior leadership and maintaining a focus on cadet welfare. As part of the DF leadership team, the SAD assumes supervisory responsibilities, mentoring staff and faculty, evaluating performance, and ensuring adherence to institutional policies and goals. This position requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to advancing the mission and values of the institution.

  • The salary shown is the minimum (Annual) amount to be paid and may be set higher commensurate with individual's qualifications and experience.
  • You will be required to serve a 1-year trial period

FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
