You will serve as a Security Specialist of CNSSC OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FIELD.
Duties
You will integrate and direct the application of security policies and plans which are tailored to site specific conditions based upon knowledge of the facilities mission.
You will coordinate the formulation of security policies and plans with administrative and technical staff members.
You will oversee the administrative procedures for issuance of security clearances using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and all successor systems.
You will perform day-to-day functions to grant or recommend removal of contractor access related to Industrial Security.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current SPeD certification. SPeD certification is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained through the entire length of employment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of Security Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with a comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, processes, and practices to develop local policy, interpret policy from higher organizational levels, and to independently direct, evaluate, implement, advise on, and/or resolve security related matters and issues relative to a variety of security program areas (specifically industrial security & personnel security). You have experience communicating both orally and in writing with a variety of personnel including Headquarters' employees, civilian management personnel, military, contractors and visitors in order to provide authoritative advice relative to security matters and recommend a course of action consistent with established security policies, objectives and regulations. You have demonstrated technical proficiency/working knowledge of automated security information programs, i.e. Defense Information System for Security for Security (DISS) and all successor systems.
Specialized experience must include: 1) Ensure security clearances comply with established DoD and DoN Personnel Security instructions, manuals, policies and requirements; 2) Act as a liaison between the Contracting Officer Representative or Technical Point of Contact and contracting officials concerning investigations, access, interpretation of industrial security policies and directives; 3) Advises supervisor, the Activity Security Manager, and employees of investigation and reinvestigation requirements, and on the requirement for maintaining clearance eligibility; 4) Coordinating the formulation of security policies and plans with administrative and technical staff members and contractors, evaluating opinions, needs and impact; and 5) Prepares and manages the administrative and system procedures through the Contractor Verification Systems (CVS) and Trusted Associate Sponsorship System (TASS) for issuance of common access cards as well as visit requests; and 6) Monitor the progress of the employee's application, evaluates the submission for suitability and security determination, fingerprints employees, and submits investigations to the Office of Personnel Management.
