You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (ANTI-TERRORISM) in the Force Protection of NSA MECH SECURITY DETACHMENT.

Duties

You will develop short- and long-range plans to ensure compliance with legislation, governing instructions, and polices and standards. You will oversee the implementation of the Anti-Terrorism and Physical Security planning at the Installation level. You will develop, implement, and supervise the installation access control program and visitor control center. You will plan, prioritize, schedule, and assign work to be accomplished by subordinates taking into consideration the difficulty of work, capabilities, and grade level of staff.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing project management, policy, and advice on matters of physical security, force protection and anti-terrorism programs; 2) Managing, implementing, and/or directing security programs and policy for an activity to meet mission requirements; 3) Safeguarding information, personnel, property, assets, or material to prevent, deter, and minimize theft, loss, misuse, fraud, disclosure, espionage, or sabotage; 4) Developing and conducting security briefings and/or training for all levels of military and civilian personnel to convey security policies and directives; 5) Exercising supervision over all work and personnel assigned to a security detachment based on department priorities and employee capabilities.
