You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the NAVSUP SYSTEMS SUPPORT BRANCH of NMC ORD SYS ENG MGMT.
Duties
You will diagnose electronics equipment malfunction through the use of system analysis, test equipment, and schematics.
You will make sound decisions using electronics principles.
You will perform final test operations, verification that the system, equipment or component is performing, within designated certification parameters.
You will assist higher graded technicians in the diagnosis, resolution and repair for specific maintenance/equipment problems for complex engineering studies in support of new electronic equipment/systems.
You will compile records of system/equipment failures, action taken, and costs involved to make recommendations of proper operation of equipment/systems and cost savings innovations.
You will perform electronics repair and certification on a wide range of equipment/parts.
You will analyze engineering literature, procedures, and technical drawings.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires rotating shift work.
Qualifications
To qualify for the ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, GS-0856-09 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of Specialized Experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with the theories, principles, procedures and techniques of electronics systems and equipment.
Experience installing, testing and maintaining electronics equipment.
Experience analyzing instructions for the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment and related test-set equipment.
Experience diagnosing equipment malfunctions using systems analysis, test equipment and schematics.
Experience analyzing system, equipment or component operations to verify performance is within designated certification parameters.

Education
