You will serve as a LEAD ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the SEASPARROW ENGINEERING BRANCH (SEB), SEASPARROW SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT DIVISION (SSEMD), ORDNANCE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (OSEMD) of NMC ORD SYS ENG MGMT. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will plan, organize, and execute the Division's electronic and mechanical NAVSEA/NATO DLR and NATO Seasparrow Launcher Systems (actuators, servomotors, power supplies, BIT sets, cabinets, compressor/dehydrators, etc.) workloads. You will be responsible for time, materials, cost, safety, and requirements of the workload of the team members. You will provide technical guidance and direction to all support personnel assigned to NAVSEA and NATO Seasparrow projects. You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor. You will develop test and repair procedures to accommodate emerging requirements and system modifications in accordance with DOD and industry practices.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to carry moderately heavy items such as electronic/mechanical equipment (45 pounds or more) where use of material handling equipment or the assistance of others may be required.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience preparing and interpreting plans, specifications, reports, drawings, and procedures for new and complex processes or equipment. *Experience analyzing engineering literature, procedures, and technical drawings. *Experience developing test and repair procedures to accommodate new and emerging requirements and system modifications in accordance with industry practices. *Experience using calibrated equipment, repair standards, and generalized mechanical test equipment.
