You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
This is a TERM position not to exceed 06/01/2026
Duties
You will serve as a subject matter expert regarding multiple safety technical areas with the associated hazards identified within the command's missions.
You will assist in conducting oversight evaluations of the subordinate command's safety and occupational health programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and to determine overall program effectiveness.
You will use information gained by mishap investigations/analysis to advise organization of trends and or recommend appropriate actions to prevent similar mishaps.
Requirements

- Incumbent may be required to work at night, weekends, holidays, and/or irregular hours.
- The employee must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to travel several times a year for periods of weeks at a time within the United States. Approximately 25% of duty time in travel status. Must be willing to travel on military and commercial aircraft or vessels.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position requires the employee to have the ability to discern colors, contrast and depth.
- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- A pre-employment medical examination is required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing policies, regulations, and procedures pertaining to; safety and occupational health management; accident prevention and control; safety and occupational health training; and mishap investigation and reporting.
