Duties
You will serve as a SYSADMIN position responsible for the compliance of the Command's IT Network infrastructure in accordance with Federal, DoD, and Navy guidance.
You will work the commands IT Infrastructure Operations, providing operation and support for server and storage hardware/software.
You will coordinate and communicate system outages as required to support the timely application of Windows platform patches.
You will play a pivotal role in System Availability and ATO Support.
You will be responsible for establishing and managing highly available IT hardware and software to ensure maximum availability to the customer base.
You will routinely inspect hardware and software operational parameters to detect performance issues, responding promptly with troubleshooting and issue isolation/resolution.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code System Administrator, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Dept of Navy policies.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band NT-03 (GS-09 and GS-10 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, managing and evaluating information systems and resolving difficult and complex system problems to ensure that requested IT materials (e.g. software/hardware) and services (e.g. maintenance contracts) are coordinated and submitted in accordance with Navy and DoD IT procurement policy and regulations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
Applicants can also qualify for this position through a combination of education and experience which when combined, equal one year of specialized experience.
