About the Position: This position is located with the 406th Arm Field Support Brigade, Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Serve as the Chief, Supply Branch, Supply and Services Division, Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) and the Supply and Services Division.
Plan, develop, implement, and execute program objectives within the overall policies provided and operational limitations.
Ensure established policies and procedures are being uniformly applied and initiates remedial measures, as necessary.
Participate in logistics workshops and training that cover a broad range of logistics functions.
Resolve operational and personnel problems as submitted by subordinate supervisors and program leads, and controls assigned functions to avoid overlapping or duplication of activities.
Make necessary adjustments in priorities, procedures, or objectives, or the need for special support or assistance to functional activities.
Responsible for implementation of best business practices/processes to execute continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires occasional TDY/Travel up to 5% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent to serve a 1-year supervisory probation period if not previously served.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Conducting internal review evaluations and/or supply performance studies to determine efficiency of support or service; 2) Serving as the Program Lead providing direction to subordinate employees that may encompass the assignment of duties and/or planning work to be accomplished, etc.; 3) Assisting in the development of budget forecasts, execution review, and year-end reports for supply and services operations; 4) Reviewing overall supply and services operations to determine operational problems and changes necessary to meet long-range objectives.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. (You must submit a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
