About the Position: Works directly for the Chief, Navigation Support Branch in the conduct of administrative, personnel support, and property management matters.
This is a temporary position not to exceed 1 year, can be extended for a total of three years.
This is a part-time position not to exceed 32 per week/64 hours per pay period.
Duties
Perform administrative management functions enabling the organization to control a variety of personnel matters, training, information management, travel, safety, timekeeping, supplies, correspondence, telephone, security, and records disposition.
Assist supervisors by explaining policies and procedures, identifying possible courses of action, and referring them to staff specialist when appropriate.
Receive visitors and calls to the Navigation Support Branch, responding to requests for information and action that can be provided from own knowledge.
Compose correspondence, reports, and reply assuring proper format, grammatical accuracy, consistency and presence of enclosures or attachments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM).
- May be subject to a one year probationary period.
- May be required to travel up to 5% of the time.
