You will serve as a STAFF ASSISTANT in the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER of JOINT FORCE COMMAND NORFOLK.
Duties
You will serve as administrative assistant to the Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS).
You will perform a variety of administrative duties to facilitate the efficient operations of the Directorate and provide support services associated with Office travel and transportation.
You will accomplish administrative projects and studies as directed including research and documentation.
You will oversee correspondence, prepare reports, graphs and briefing charts for a variety of presentation, and participate in formal/informal meetings and conferences.
Requirements

- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience performing a range of clerical support duties including preparing, receiving, reviewing, prioritizing, and verifying documents; records keeping, research, calendar management and similar clerical support work within an organization.
Experience utilizing office automation hardware and software systems or related data processing technology to perform routine clerical work (e.g., writing, filing, distributing documents) where the primary purpose is to provide general office clerical support.
Experience constructing written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Experience effectively communicating both verbally and in writing to provide and request information and explain conclusions and recommendations.
Experience anticipating, researching, and resolving administrative issues by using analytical and evaluative techniques.
Experience demonstrating skill in using job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet.
Experience building and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships to achieve common goals.
