You will serve as a GG-10 Administrative Assistant responsible for preparing and reviewing correspondence, reports, and other documents. You will schedule appointments and conferences, arrange and prepare travel itineraries and orders, and receive and distribute incoming mail, fax messages, reports, and instructions. This position is located within the Information Operations Directorate of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND in Norfolk, Virginia.
Duties
You will prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents.
You will review correspondence and other work prepared by others for content, grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and other appropriate format in accordance with governing correspondence guidelines.
You will review all travel requests and vouchers for the Directorate in the Defense Travel System (DTS), ensuring compliance with governing travel regulations.
You will schedule all secure video teleconferences in Directorate spaces and coordinating access rosters to Directorate spaces with the Directorate Special Security Representative.
You will serve as budget manager, providing information on policy and requirements on funding concerns.
You will maintain budgetary records for travel, training and consumables, tracking expenditures using Microsoft automated tools and producing required reports.
You will assist in the maintenance of the tasker database in order to track all tasks assigned the Directorate.
You will develop a task tracker and leadership schedule slides for Directorate staff meetings.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Utilize a variety of Microsoft Office programs to manage calendars, video teleconferences, and administrative tasking;
Coordinate domestic or foreign travel arrangements using Defense Travel System (DTS) for personnel assigned to the organization and ensure travel costs remain within budget;
Relay critical information, prepare correspondence and coordinate administrative issues externally and internally with senior executive leadership throughout the organization.
