You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HEALTH SYSTEM SPECIALIST of NMRTC PORTSMOUTH VA.
Duties
You will serve as a first line supervisor.
You will maintain close liaison with Military Service Coordinator (MSC), VA Regional Claims Office.
You will coordinate the processing of Medical Evaluation Board Report of personnel assigned to branches of the uniformed services.
You will prepare and conduct various briefings and training evolutions relevant to the IDES program to the MTF leadership.
You will use information technology to document progress, concerns or other issues relevant to member's cases.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following
Experience serving as a liaison between military members and other agencies.
Experience providing instructional insight over Disability Evaluation System (DES) processes to include both Limited Duty and Medical Evaluation boards.
Experience generating reports using government applications (LIMDU SMART and VTA).
Experience generating standard and customized management charts using Microsoft applications (Teams, Excel, Word).
Experience tracking assigned cases and analyzing performance against established metrics relating to DES.
Experience setting priorities, schedules, evaluating work performance for employees at the managerial level.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
