Duties
Your will investigate, analyze, and resolve a variety of unusual security challenges, questions or conditions associated with the security management arena.
You will plan, develop, coordinate, and implement required security management policies and procedures throughout the command as directed.
You will make authoritative determinations and advise on technical security problems as they relate to the organization and the agency’s mission.
You will be involved in the implementation and development of a comprehensive security program for NCIS.
You will ensure compliance with security regulations, directives and procedures.
You will resolve conflicts.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Physical Security Certification (SPeD).
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Applying methods and techniques for conducting security vulnerability assessments and assist visits of difficult and complex situations.
Reviewing, analyzing, and resolving varying, difficult, and highly complex security problems.
Using and developing of security systems designed to control access, detect intrusion and losses, and protect assets and personnel.
Operating basic computer hardware and software in production of records, reports, and training.
Training to provide leadership, advice, and guidance to train and share knowledge of law enforcement.
Specialized Experience
GS-11: (Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector).
Specialized experience is experience planning, organizing, and following through by implementing comprehensive security programs involving various security disciplines, to include information, technical and automated data processing (ADP) security.
GS-12: (Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector).

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
