You will serve as a TRAINING AND EXERCISE OFFICER in the G-3/5/7 DIVISION of MARINE FORCES NORTHERN COMMAND.
Duties
You will develop service component-level exercises that are associated with the command's Mission Essential Tasks (METs).
You will develop exercise scenarios associated with METs or emerging threats, ensuring the command is prepared to respond to all hazards and contingencies.
You will assist the command Crisis Action Team in support of real-world contingency responses to manmade or natural disasters.
You will develop, propose, publish, and maintain a staff Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in order to implement training and exercise policies.
You will prepare correspondence and conduct briefings to include: position papers, issue papers, and formal responses to tasks received.
You will forecast and budget requirements necessary to execute command training, exercise, and curriculum development programs.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET (SCI) security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Frequent Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) is required by this position. This position is a deployable position during times of peace, crisis, contingency, and war.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning or coordinating command operations and training exercises; and ensuring all matters of plans, policy, and strategy are executed in accordance with orders.
