You will serve as a DIRECTORATE OPERATIONS OFFICER in the ACOS TRAINING & READINESS of COMNAVSURFLANT.

Duties

You will serve as the N7 Deputy assistant Chief of Staff (DACOS) for Training, readiness, technical expert for leading, coordinating, and overseeing the integration of administrative and scheduling requirements with training/operational requirements. You will represent the assistant chief of staff (ACOS) in decision making or in negotiations with other officials of peer and /or higher level. You will serve as a principal advisor, subject matter/technical expert for Surface force training and operational matters. You will manage, monitor, direct and provide oversight to nine divisions with differing functions and focus areas. You will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, monitoring, budgeting, and executing the surface force training and readiness program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and mastery knowledge of Fleet Training and assessment across the entire training continuum with specific expertise in command and control, fleet training requirements and associated DOD and DON directives, instructions and procedures. Experience applying a broad range of qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques for assessing surface force long and short range training plans, administrative and operational force structure, and budget requirements. Experience utilizing advanced management and organizational analysis concepts, principles, and practices. Experience utilizing analytical and evaluative methods and a thorough understanding of how regulatory or enforcement programs are administered.
