About the Position:
This position is located at Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Cavazos,Texas.
A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
Duties
Validate items received by purchase order number, catalog number, quantity, and unit of purchase.
Conduct warehouse inventories, performing physical counts individually or with a team.
Operate a motor vehicle in the performance of warehousing tasks in order to deliver supplies.
Utilize automated based software to track and ascertain status of commercial shipments.
Prepare shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems.
Operate material handling equipment as required and maintains storage area in a neat and clean condition.
Assist in determining the reasons for overages, shortages or misplaced items.
Ensure that controlled substances, refrigerated, freezer, flammable, radioactive or hazardous materials are stored correctly upon receipt.
Serves as an alternate point of contact for receipt and processing of all medical gases received by the activity, both cylinder and bulk.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I can of receive, store, and distribute supplies in a warehouse and I can operate warehouse machinery such as a forklift, stock picker, pallet jack, and/or trucks up to 5 tons. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort required includes continuous standing, bending, lifting, walking and performs work on hard surfaces. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs, and at times, may lift heavier items with assistance of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent typically works both inside and outside and may be subject to heat, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted areas. Work may be dirty, dusty and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions and falls. May be subject to exposure when working with hazardous materials and requires the use of protective clothing such as safety shoes, hardhats, gloves, etc.,
