About the Position: This position is located at Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, Texas.

Duties

Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor's instructions. Ascertain equipment needs and responsible for maintaining all purchases of linen, supplies and equipment. Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems. Maintain automated linen inventory database. Assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed (e.g., assures that machine capacities are not exceeded and that equipment is properly used). Ensure that annual inventory is conducted. Pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Selectees may be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• This position may be a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees may be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 70 pounds may be required.

I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Frequently lifts positions and carries supplies and equipment weighing from 20 to 50 pounds and, occasionally up to 70 pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand dollies to do heavy loads. WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent works in a warehouse which in well lighted, heated, and ventilated but may work outside when assisting with unloading. Working conditions are considered in the evaluation of the job and do not meet criteria for compensation by environmental or equipment be worn during all periods of time incumbent is exposed to the hazardous condition(s).
