About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade located at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA.
This position may be filled as a term appointment.
Duties
Manage military personnel (enlisted/officer) strength within the organization.
Maintain current and projected unit strength data, gathering input from and ensuring input to reports, and utilizing Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A).
Receive, review, and process all personnel actions including reassignments, retirements, separations, and records updates, from subordinate organizations.
Monitor and manage the Brigade/Battalion Military Awards Program.
Serve as an action officer responsible for implementing Department of Army (DA) and ASC policy regarding timely preparation and submission of Officer Evaluation Reports (OERs) and Non-Commissioned Officer Evaluation Reports (NCOERs).
Manage and coordinate the leave and pass program.
Requirements

- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Advising leadership on military Human Resource procedures,
recommending solutions to difficult military personnel issues, maintaining military personnel systems, and coordinating directly with outside agencies to resolve military personnel issues. 2) Developing technical documentation from military personnel actions; managing military personnel programs. 3) Reviewing and analyzing information concerning military personnel actions and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
