About the Position: Position is located at Headquarters, US Army Medical Command DCS, G1/4/6 G1 Military HR Division/Soldier Transition, Fort Sam Houston Texas, providing military HR advisory services.

Duties

Utilize automated HR operational databases and systems to extract and compile data. Utilize a variety of HR Systems such as Force Management System (FMSWEB), Medical Operational Data System (MODS), Integrated Personnel and Pay System Army (IPPS-A), Personnel Authorization Module (PAM). Oversee system accuracy and management of UIC changes derived from Manpower and Force Structure TDA changes. Provide advisory services to all elements of military personnel relocation program, voluntary/involuntary outbound assignments such as retirements, conditional releases and voluntary separation service transfers. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Heavy lifting up to 25lbs may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing military human resources management to evaluate and make recommendations on plans and proposals, develop courses of action, and experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to analyze data extracts and reports from automated databases and/or develop the most efficient and effective approaches for management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: HR Systems PlanningManages and Organizes InformationManaging Human ResourcesOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
