About the Position: Serves as the Deputy Human Resources Director, G1, HQ, Installation Management Command, Fort Sam Houston Texas.
Duties
Serves as Deputy HR Director for HQ, Installation Management Command.
Responsible for staff direction and administration of a comprehensive HR management program involving both civilian and military personnel management throughout Command including HQ, Directorates and Garrisons world-wide.
World-wide HR mission responsibilities and functional oversight of Civilian/Military Personnel Management; Army Continuing Education System (ACES); Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Suicide Prevention; and Administrative Services Programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience applying a wide range of advanced Human Resources (HR) principles, theories, concepts, and practices, as well as seasoned consultative skills to provide management consultative service involving the full spectrum of HR functions (e.g., Civilian Personnel Management; Army Continuing Education System (ACES); Military Personnel Management and Offices; Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Suicide Prevention Programs; Workforce Development Programs; and Administrative Services Programs). Experience rendering expert advisory service and/or authoritative policy interpretations on highly complex agency-wide or equivalent programs (e.g., reengineering and improving HR processes). Experience advising other senior HR staff and program managers and develop appropriate interventions for management on significant HR issues and concerns. Experience communicating, orally and in writing, to provide advisory services, convey a wide variety of information to diverse audiences in an understandable and acceptable manner, develop policies, procedures, prepare reports and present conclusions and recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
