About the Position: The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Chief, Operations Division, G 3/5/7Directorate, Headquarters, Installation Management Command (HQ IMCOM) providing administrative and policy direction concerning overall priorities and objectives.

Duties

The incumbent directs and oversees the Future Operations Branch (FUOPS); serves as principal assistant and subject matter expert to the Chief, Operations Division. Provide administrative and policy direction concerning overall priorities and objectives for the Branch. First line supervisor performing a range of supervisory responsibilities. Incumbent is knowledgeable of Army Doctrine, Design and Operational concepts.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • This position may require the incumbent work non-standard work hours.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: guiding professional, highly technical personnel in an office with responsibility over establishment of high complexity and administrative policies. Establishing technical and administrative policies. Perform tasks using a wide range of technical concepts, including practical knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process and the Army Design Methodology. Resolving issues utilizing cross functional teams such as across the global enterprise, facilitation of senior leader decision making forums and an inherent knowledge of Installation Management Command business practices. Experience writing, editing, and reviewing Warning Orders, Operations Orders, and Fragmentary Orders at the Brigade level or higher. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailInterpersonal SkillsKnowledge Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
