About the Position: The position is in an office environment on JBSA, in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a primary key leadership position, engaged with other key leaders on policy, procedures, operations and resolving issues related to our 9 Network Military Treatment Facilities.

Duties
Plan, organize, and direct the operations for the Assistant Director – Support (AD-S).
Lead Assistant Director – Support level workgroups and planning teams focused on significant issues directly impacting the organization’s structure and mission accomplishment.
Serve as the primary advisor for DHA Support Activities for all assigned roles, missions, functions, tasks, and operations.
Provide liaison activities and support to directors and special staff with a directed focus on military and civilian personnel, intelligence and security, logistics, information technologies, safety, and quality assurance.
Set priorities and establish and maintain schedules and timelines for work completion.
Make decisions on work problems presented by administrative staff.
Collaborate with various process owners and supervisors to negotiate, decide on and coordinate work-related changes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position is designated as Key. For positions located within the Continental US (CONUS), the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing policies in response to regulatory revisions or directives; 2) Analyzing healthcare operational data to make operational recommendations; AND 3) Interpreting policies to identify the impact to healthcare delivery procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
