About the Position:
Serve as an Operations Research Analyst for the Manpower Analysis Agency, Institutional Support Division located at Fort Belvoir, Fairfax, VA.
Duties
Conduct quantitative analysis to identify or define problems related to capabilities requirements.
Adapt known quantitative techniques to solve unique problems whose outcome is uncertain.
Independently work to solve problems that arise in the prioritization or integration of resource requirements.
Advise on the development of sound quantitative analytic methodologies in support of management planning, policy analysis, or program evaluation.
Determine applicability of various analytical methods and methodologies appropriate to the particular problem under study.
Present oral and written results evidencing detailed analysis and sound recommendations.
Serve as functional expert for the description, design, development, and fielding of management information systems used for capabilities requirements reporting and forecasting.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Business travel is up to 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and defining the scope and objective of an organizational study; determining the methodology and techniques to be used in carrying out the study such as: determining resources required to be used and establishing timetables and/or milestones for completion and presenting the plan for approval; researching and testing traditional operational research methods for use in manpower requirements' determination and planning process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
