About the Position: This position as a Budget Analyst is located with the I Corps Senior Command Augmentation, G-8 Resource Management Program & Budget Division on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Duties
Perform full range of budget analysis, including formulation, justification, presentation, and execution for those Major Subordinate Commands assigned.
Serve as a Budget Analyst in the I Corps/Army Senior Commander’s Mission Support Staff G8, Program and Budget Division.
Utilize Army Financial Management systems to include the General Fund Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS), Defense Travel System (DTS), and the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) for assigned units.
Utilizes budget automated systems to perform budget administration functions in the execution of an annual appropriated fund budget for a unit or activity.
Evaluates the effect of cost and program changes on the budget execution process for assigned accounts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Must obtain and maintain Financial Management Certification Level 2 within two years of appointment.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned ,unscheduled overtime and some weekends.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing and presenting multiple budget and financial management reports of serviced activities; AND 2) performing budget analysis for an organization; AND 3) utilizing financial systems to research and analyze an organizations budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
