This position is located in the United States Coast Guard, Office of Civil Rights Operations, Equity Policy and Compliance Division, Solutions and Complaints Branch (CG-00H-221), Washington, DC.
Duties
You will serve as an Equal Employment Specialist and be responsible for technical support and assistance to the Solutions and Complaints staff and division staff, which includes the disability program manager, formal complaints manager, informal complaints manager, alternative dispute resolution program manager, and MD-715 program manager.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include the following:
Assisting in completing reports in a timely manner; AND
Reviewing forms/cases for correctness of format; AND
Operating automated systems to complete work assignments; AND
Assisting with compiling statistics and researching information on various aspects of an EEO or civil rights program; AND
Responding to inquiries on the complaint process.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
