Duties
As a GLOBAL FORCE MANAGEMENT PLANNING SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Plans, develops, coordinates and implements activities related to Global Force Management (GFM) for the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) and its subordinate elements.
Conducts Global Force Management for the JECC and in support of the USTRANSCOM Global Force Manager. Facilitates and directs the development of sourcing recommendations for the JECC in response to Global Force Management/Requests for Forces GRF/RFFs from Geographic Combatant Commander (GCCs).
Provides direction and guidance on the procedures and business rules used by the JECC, USTRANSCOM and the Joint Staff to seek a Secretary of Defense decision regarding J ECC sourcing recommendations.
Prepares and presents high-level briefings including strategic reports, responses to queries, justifications, and background papers on technical aspects within areas of expertise and assignment.
Represents the Division on working groups and steering groups. and/or at other meetings, conferences, seminars, etc., and chairs meetings related to GFM.

- The position is designated by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the AF Civilian Drug Testing Program
- This position is a KEY position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent. or a designated alternate, must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority.
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Managing, coordinating and executing critical Global Force Management activities, programs and processes.
Serving as technical advisor to senior officials on policies and procedures of Global Force Management programs.
Formulating and/or modifying and proposing Global Force Management (GFM) and related current operations policies, procedures, and regulations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
