You will serve as a VIRTUAL TRAINING PROGRAM MANAGER in the Fleet/Joint Training Technologies Branch of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.

Duties

You will provide common foundation and supports the U.S. Navy Live, Virtual, Constructive Training (LVCt) integrating architecture and environment. You will lead management of Navy live training technologies, virtual, and modeling and simulation training execution through the Navy Continuous Training Environment to produce an integrated Fleet-wide training architecture. You will coordinate, establish and oversee integrated requirements and policies for Navy Continuous Training Environment the Atlantic and Pacific Fleet units in all phases of Optimized Fleet Readiness Program. You will prepare technical correspondence, reports and assemble and disseminate current status of all work within assigned area of responsibility. You will attend conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, demonstrations, and visit other government training facilities, agencies and defense industries to remain continuously alert to transformational warfighting concepts and changing technologies.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Incumbent is expected to attend schools and conferences to attain/maintain expertise, and provide command positions.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing and directing the Navy Continuous Training Environment and Fleet training support requirements for the operational employment and training readiness of the Fleet. Using Fleet and Joint training range programs, acquisition strategy, funding execution, government contracts and security and property management. Assigning and reviewing work for attainment of desired results, setting broad based goals and objective and long range planning. Establishing and evaluating performance standards, interviewing candidates for positions and recommending appointment, promotions and other personnel actions. Preparing technical correspondence, reports and assembling and disseminating current status of work.
