Duties
As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Manage the development of long-range plans, programs, training, and procedures.
Recommend, establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment.
Evaluate requirements for additional resources, and balances organizational needs with overall mission requirements and resource interests.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities and directs, coordinates, and oversees the work of staff members.
Explain performance expectations to supervised employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
Meet with key customers, peers, and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise.

- The incumbent of this position may be required to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 15% of time away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft in performance of duties
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
- This position is a KEY position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent. or a designated alternate, must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority
- Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Ensuring the effectiveness and oversight of all current and future operations analyses and Emergency Action Procedures for an agency and its subordinate elements.
Ensuring worldwide operational and situational awareness, Global Force Management, strategic communications, and rapid deployment activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
